I think the only thing you’ll never really see again is the hair metal or glam metal I don’t think that’s going to come back where you see guys teasing their hair and wearing the spandex. That’s not going to happen?Metal Martyr: Do you think nu-metal might have brought the metal scene to a more mainstream level during it’s run?Frank Mullen: Yeah in a way. They were able to play songs on the radio and play bigger venues and stuff like that and basically give it an opportunity to grow where as like death metal and extreme metal was just too crazy for the radio and the mainstream. Metal Martyr: “Blood ath”. There’s a lot of buzz about that. We’re hearing that it’s going to be a bit different than past albums. From their sonic assaults to their live shows Cattle Decapitation is a true example of frenzy. Their music is hard to classify some say grindcore some say Death Metal but I say it’s a disturbing mix of both with a dash of the unsettling. Cattle Decapitation is like a black hole with teeth sucking in everything from noise to melody to brutality then chewing it up and vomiting back it all out in the most vicious way they can. Started back in 1996 Cattle Decapitation has grown from a one trick pony with a violent back kick to one of the most interesting bands in extreme music. This is one of those bands that play what they play because they have to because the poison will course through their veins and will consume them if they don’t get it out. Thankfully for us they get out in the form of really emotional passionate albeit angry music.
