The pioneers of this burgeoning scene DEICIDE are still striking fear into hearts of the masses to this day. Century Media Records are extremely proud to announce a worldwide deal with DEICIDE one of the founding fathers of death metal. The group stands strong to this day as one of the most influential and controversial bands ever. With a relentlessly brutal sound and uncompromisingly blasphemous lyrics DEICIDE helped set the standards for extreme metal and have maintained those standards ever since. DEICIDE led by original members Glen Benton (vocals bass) and Steve Asheim (drums) have been busy at Audiohammer Studios with Mark Lewis (Black Dahlia Chimaira) and are looking at a summer ‘09 release. The group have reunited with legendary guitarists Jack wen (ex-Cannibal Corpse) and Ralph Santolla (bituary ex-Iced Earth Death) and will embark on a two-week European tour this week.

Pure chops with axes set to kill twin leads scorching and salting the earth. And man death metal growls are a staple in a lot of metal but Karki isn’t following any trend since he was part of the movement that introduced it and that is evident in the hunt or be hunted brutality that rips your ear a new hole. Dismember is exactly the pure metal attack that reminds me why I love this kind of music so much. Death Angel – Killing Season: Smart and energetic interwoven in thrash with an eye towards a little groove and hardcore textures the Bay Area inspired Killing Season is a sheer joy of unbridled axes attacking at the speed of life. There is a vital sense of energy here a pure “happy to show up and destroy the Marshals” attitude that captures everything that is good about metal. It’s more hook groove and even rhythm than riff at times but man it’s still tied into a ten cylinder engine that demands superior highways to cruise upon.

As this frustration was growing and growing I just decided to transform it into songs and they turned out to sound much more aggressive and experimental than the stuff I had done before. “Since the songs sounded more extreme than I thought and contained a lot of the heavier metal styles I thought it might have to become a very over-the-top project in a cynical way. ‘HATE DEATH KILL’ was a name that suited that cynical idea but I started to realise the music actually represented a very important part of myself and my life so it became much more serious. I changed the name to HDK asking Amanda Somerville [the American singer-songwriter and vocal coach who is better known for her collaborations with various European metal bands including EPICA AFTER FREVER and EDGUY ? Ed. ] to write the lyrics for the project based on the subjects I already had for each song. They are all very personal and describe what happens with somebody who is under too much pressure. The funny thing is that when I got my burn-out (which caused me to take a break of a year of everything I was doing) reading the lyrics made me aware of where it went wrong.

” Now Biffy are reported to be heading into the studio to craft the follow up – and if it builds on what has gone before with their characteristic Scots’ wit and taste for invention then it’ll be a clear contender for album of the year. Cannibal Corpse – Evisceration Plague: The death metal band’s last album Kill was a fantastic release one that had the aggression and brutality of their previous works but with a much improved production value. Evisceration Plague should be another stellar release if the band continues to fire on all cylinders. Megadeth: 2007’s United Abominations was a return to form for Dave Mustaine and company. The band had seemed to get back on track after a decade of wading through mediocre albums and a few failed experiments along the way (Risk).
