So it’s a new year and it’s time to look at a new band since In Flames wrapped up last week. I did a bit of thinking about which band to cover this week and I haven’t really found one that really stands out yet at least in terms of a long term column like the In Flames series. I’ve been looking at a few bands outside of the standard melodic death metal genre bands like Children of Bodom peth Amon Amarth and Ensiferum. I guess you’ll all have to wait ’till next week to find out. Hell maybe I will too. As far as this week I found a band that’s more than suitable as filler for this week.

I hope everyone has recovered from the big party kicking 2008 into the dust bin of history. Although while the news and weather sucked I think it was a great year for music. If you missed it I went through my picks for some of the best metal albums of 2008 last week and I was quite pleased with a lot of music. Although as usual the feature experienced some mixed results. To lighten things up I’m going to kick off the New Year in fashion by once again pulling out my crystal ball which alarmingly resembles a bottle of Grey Goose and piecing together some predictions for the biggest news to hit the music business. And this year we have pictures! But it’s become obvious that some people can’t handle alternate opinions or at best take a joke so I need to add some disclaimers:The pinions Expressed In The Mosh Pit Are Just That – pinionsThe pinions Expressed In The Mosh Pit Are Not The pinions f 411 or Management(but they should be)If You Can’t Take a Joke Exit Stage LeftIf you are offended by things like this:.

MARIAH CAREY “EMC2″: Everything that worked on her 2005 comeback LP “The Emancipation of Mimi” works even better here with Carey melding the worlds of R&B pop and hip-hop more seamlessly than ever before. METALLICA “DEATH MAGNETIC”: In which the rockers put the “metal” back in Metallica. Brutal unrelenting and heavy as an oil drum. DUFFY “RCKFERRY”: Recalling Dusty Springfield not Amy Winehouse the wee Welsh lass with the big voice proved a natural fit for Bernard Butler’s retro-soul sound.

You couldn’t do that back then. You could only imagine that. What this game allows you to do is physicalize heavy metal music. You can do battle with this dramatic dangerous music as your score. It’s a real wish-fulfillment game for me. How is working in games different from in movies? Black: It’s exciting to me because it’s still relatively new. It’s an art form that hasn’t really reached its potential yet.
