The songs for ‘This Violent Decline’ came to us very fast and very spontaneously. It also shows as the songs have a very natural flow to them. Together and releasing music since the early ’90s After All is one of Europe’s most active touring bands having toured with the likes of Anthrax King Diamond and Stone Sour among others. The band’s last tour included stops in 15 countries where the set was built entirely around the new songs. “The response has been nothing but overwhelming” Van Damme said. Despite its waning popularity in the ’90s and current revival in North America After All has proudly held the thrash metal torch through the years. “Thrash was never really gone – at least not in Europe” said Van Damme… It is good to see there is a renewed interest in thrash metal right now. We benefit from that as well. Being the only active thrash band in Belgium right now we really do stand out in a local scene that has countless death metal and metalcore bands. After All will make its American live debut in 2008. Stay tuned for dates. Locomotive Records was founded in 1996 by music producer Goyo Esteban. Since its formation 11 years ago the company has become one of the biggest Independent labels in Europe South America and the United States.
Guitarist mixes thrash with tunes for tots
Greeley Tribune – Jan 28, 2008
Recommend(“ExternalResource” “GR2008532830207″ document. URL); Edison Shaw grabs his guitar and makes a face. It’s the kind of face you might expect from a heavy metal guitarist who was raised on Motley Crue and at age 36 still plays the kind of music that scares your grandmother. nly this time when his audience sees the face Shaw hears a giggle. A giggle? Heavy metal fans don’t giggle. They might scowl or bang their heads or do the Devil horns but they usually don’t giggle. Then again Shaw isn’t playing heavy metal… And if you were say 3 you’d probably giggle at it too. Welcome to Shaw’s split personalities. He’s a guitarist who listens to Death Metal plays a mixture of thrash and prog metal with his band Black B Waiting and won’t ever give up all things hard and heavy. And he also plays for kids at day cares and at the FunPlex Recreation Center. In fact if you only judged him based on the songs he sings he isn’t much different from say the Wiggles. It used to be on South First practically across the street from Ace. This is where the Bock kids would come every day after school to wait for their parents to finish work. They’d roll quarters file pawn slips and wait for the theme music from “All Things Considered” which came on at 5 o’clock and was the signal to start taking the merchandise out of the front window. It was Bock’s maternal grandfather Irving Starr who started the family in the pawn business. Bock’s sister Crystal remembers him as a “big Vegasy guy very street-smart with a huge personality” who liked to play the horses. He used to work in New York’s Diamond District on West 47th Street but by the early 60s drawn to the action he had moved out to Vegas and opened Ace Loan. Caryl and Howard Bock Charles’s parents followed him in the mid-’60s when Caryl’s mother became ill… ” He wrote pamphlets for his synagogue youth group; he obsessed about comics and his collection of “Star Wars” figures. When he decided to take up boxing as an 8-year-old he sewed his own trunks of satin from his sister’s dance costumes. Later he became a student of heavy metal — the kind of person who still remembers the opening acts of every Black Sabbath concert he ever attended. “It’s been such an amazing journey for Charlie and he had a lot of stuff to work through” Crystal said. “But I’m not surprised he wound up doing something great. ”Though obviously bright Bock was so miserable in school that he did poorly. He told me “The only memorable thing that happened to me in high school was that in algebra once someone threw a pencil and it got stuck in my forehead and drew blood.

Hot Rod Association yearbook once dubbed Porter “Mr. Nice Guy” and for good reason. The North Carolina native prefers country music to heavy metal says a prayer before each race and admits his favorite TV show is “Desperate Housewives. ” So how did he end up crunching glass and metal for a living? Reporter Joe Killian asked him before he climbed into Grave Digger for a Monster Jam at the Greensboro Coliseum earlier this month. You’ve been in the business for more than 20 years. How did you get started?A.

In the late ’70s Starr helped Caryl and Howard buy John’s Loan and after her father’s death in 1994 Caryl took over his place.
