The band is a Cleveland staple probably because of its ultra-intense live shows. It seems ATF has tapped into the zeitgeist of the punk-hardcore scene. Its music is carefully calculated formulaic in its originality and even has mainstream appeal. While the group formed in 2000 it didn't complete the final line-up until the addition of drummer Dave Anderson in the summer of 2003. He joined singer Andy Hoffman and guitarists liver Barrett Rick Sans and LT Magnotto. nce he joined the band fine-tuned its metal-spiked old-school punk-rock compositions. The casual listener would no doubt agree that ATF still has a ways to go when it comes to the complexity of Unearth's leads and solos. Above This Fire has a well-received formula. In order to separate itself from the pack it moved away from the monotone or screamy vocals indicative of metalcore. Hoffman has built a legacy out of the clarity of his voice.
