Vandals made public a video of their attack on a controversial…
Taipei Times – Oct 11, 2007
The grainy video of four masked vandals running through an art gallery in Sweden smashing sexually explicit photographs with axes was posted on YouTube Friday night. PHT: NY TIMES NEWS SERVICE A grainy video of four masked vandals running through an art gallery in Sweden smashing sexually explicit photographs with crowbars and axes to the strain of thundering death-metal music was posted on YouTube Friday night. This was no joke or acting stunt. It was what actually happened on a quiet Friday afternoon in Lund a small university town in southern Sweden where The History of Sex an exhibition of photographs by the New York artist Andres Serrano had opened two weeks earlier. Around 3:30pm half an hour before closing four vandals wearing black masks stormed into a space known as the Kulturen Gallery while shouting in Swedish “We don’t support this” plus an expletive.
Pop Life’s Rob Sheffield Answers Your Questions
Rolling Stone – Oct 11, 2007
While I disagree with some of his answers they are again his opinions. I’m a big fan of Rob’s so I’m going to say this: if you haven’t read Love is a Mix Tape you should do so it’s fantastic. I completely disagree with everything Sheffield wrote about them and I still think David Sedaris would beat the shit out of him. Excuse me? verrated by whom? Apparently not your publication which thought that “Baby ne More Time” was more worthy of a spot on its recent “Songs that Changed the World” list than anything by any metal band much less the most influential metal band of all time. r that the Eagles were more deserving of a spot on the “100 greatest artists of all time” list than Metallica… no chops no tunes no beats no riffs no hooksHetfield is one of the all-time greatest riff architects. Metallica’s ability to incorporate tunefulness and irresistible hooks into the loudest heaviest rock n’ roll known up until that point played a pretty big role in making them the most universally respected metal band of all time. Also Lars Ulrich may not be the greatest metal drummer ever but he can certainly keep a good beat. Name a metal band that incorporated a strong sense of reality into their lyrics before Metallica. Name a thrash metal band that broke into the mainstream before Metallica. Name a metal band that used a sitar before Metallica.

The Federation of Horsepower is the crunkest band you ever dreamed of brother. It’s got the Killa City attitude the low-slung rock and roll the beats to shake ass to the noise the punk the blues the metal — and now an endorsement deal from Lil Jon’s beverage of choice. Federation discovered Crunk Energy Drink at the notorious Sturgis South Dakota biker rally and music festival in August. Flavored with pomegranate juice Crunk contains weird shit like horny goat weed (discovered circa 800 B. ) and skullcap (part of the mint family) ashwagandha (Indian ginseng) plus the requisite caffeine and other crunkological ingredients… Ask him where he learned to peel out like that on the fretboard and he’ll respond “The ’80s. This isn’t a band that takes itself seriously — at least not offstage. Press materials describe the Federation’s sound as “warehouse death punk” and the word from the horse’s mouth is even weirder. “If there’s a name for the bag of baby powder in Mexican restaurants that chefs use on their balls that’s what we sound like” Ferguson says. Find out what polvo de cojones del cocinero (or what-the-fuck-ever) sounds like this weekend at the Stay Down CD release party where according to Ferguson there will be “Crunk galore” available to drink. Update: The Pitch’s Taste Team has officially gone missing. write your comment loadMgr.

He never stoppedbelieving he says but over 15 years of unsettling rumours hisdream of seeing Iron Maiden in concert often seemed hopeless. “The story I kept hearing was they’d never come back toAustralia unless they got paid $1 million per show” he says. The terms of the British metal band’s extravagant February tourare undisclosed – they will travel in a specially commissionedBoeing 757 – but money was clearly no object to fans who bought40000 tickets in an hour. “h dude I’ve got the unreserved ($150) mosh-pit tickets forthe first Sydney show” he gloats. “I did a pre-sale where it costme an extra $40 just to make sure. I will definitely be going toboth Sydney shows hopefully one in Melbourne or Brisbane aswell. It’s small change for a fan who bought his first Maiden albumLive After Death at the impressionable age of seven… I know this is corny but they’relike my nature” she says. “Their music speaks to different partsof me really deep down. “Music has been my teacher in life because being in awheelchair my parents were really over-protective” she explains. “They didn’t tell me much about what was out there in the world. Ifound out rock music was kind of a guiding light. As Mz Maihem Vaiani maintains an active MySpace presenceblogging about groupie etiquette and other hardcore concerns.
