Brutal cartoons of darkness
Tribune Review – Oct 18, 2007
In Dethklok’s Norse-inspired castle the band members try to figure out what constitutes a tax break (adopting a gluttonous dim-witted kid does not) what to get a psychotic self-loathing bandmate for his birthday (rock ‘n’ roll clown — not a good idea) and how to make their music more brutal (recording songs for fish in a submarine). These aren’t the brightest guys — some not can’t speaks the English — but they’re billionaires and for some reason they’re being targeted by a shadowy agency. story continues below Not only is the comedy dead on but so is the music to hilarious effect. Ryan Adams can’t get enough of “ctober Road” apparently. Adams plans to shoot a clip for “Follow the Lights” — a song included on his Tuesday EP of the same name — Sunday in Los Angeles and it’s due to premiere January 7 during the first episode of the show’s second season. The collaboration marks the first time the cast of an ABC show has gotten together to take part in an artist’s music video… Bleeding Through singer Brandan Schieppati has teamed with Bad Religion drummer Brooks Wackerman No Use for a Name guitarist Dave Nassie and ex-Distillers bassist Ryan Sinn to form a new band called the Innocent. The thrash-metal act has been working on material but there’s no word yet on when it might record and release an LP. For the second time in a month Apple Inc.

Hey at least he got the kids. PAT BNE GES METALMaybe the worst idea in the history of recorded music. We still don’t know what audience choirboy Boone was targeting with “In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy” his 1997 album of heavy metal covers. The disc appealed to neither his conservative Christian fan base (obviously) or heavy metal fans (more obviously) and Boone then 63 compounded the awkwardness by appearing in black leather at the American Music Awards.
