Neustadt was finally the person to fill out the vacant place and after the recording session ended up as the fifth member of DARKSIDE. Six compositions of doomy but still powerful death metal clearly showed the way towards a bigger range of melodies and sounds. ” Requiem” with a running time of about 12 minutes soon brought some kind of cultstatus to DARKSIDE in Czech Republic with the whole demo getting excellent reviews in the czech press. After the release of the tape DARKSIDE took part in the legendary Horepnik-slamdance amongst others together with ZED JAG ARAKAIN RT and more as well as in the Attack f Fire 93. A first highpoint was the tour together with KRABATHR and SCABBARD in autumn of the same year through Czech Republic and Austria… ” with a different cover and booklet artwork all over Europe what happened in September 1995. Later on the Florida-based independant label CNQUEST MUSIC licensed the album from SYSTEM SHCK for the USA Canada and Mexico. n the livesector in 1995 DARKSIDE started to concentrate a little bit more on their homecountry Austria where they played a series of gigs with VADER KRABATHR and some local bands. In November the band went on a tour together with KRABATHR and DISTILLERY through Poland but the highlights of the season for sure were the Attack f Fire 1995 and the festival in Hustopece before an approximate 3500 people where the security had to stop the show of DARKSIDE two times because of security risks for both band and spectators caused by masses of people invading the stage. In January 1996 DARKSIDE finally took part in their first european tour together with SINISTER and CREEPMIME playing 23 shows in various countries. Again also Austria and Czech Republic were on the tourplan of a series of concerts some of them DARKSIDE played with THERIN.
The cult of Ian Curtis
Independent – May 14, 2007
He watched Werner Herzog’s film Stroszek a glum tale of a German naif who moves to America and is destroyed by the experience: his eventual suicide occurs off-screen while the world carries on regardless. Then he listened to Iggy Pop’s The Idiot before hanging himself in the kitchen. Curtis’s death sent shock-waves through his circle of friends and through the wider music community. A few weeks later the tragically beautiful “Love Will Tear Us Apart” became the first Joy Division song to reach the Top 20 partly propelled by the ghoulish romanticism that sudden death drapes around such records. It’s worth remembering that earlier performers as diverse as tis Redding Jimi Hendrix and Jim Reeves had all scored their most significant chart successes in the wake of their premature deaths. Just as drivers slow down to gaze at the carnage of road accidents so too is the public’s attention drawn by tragedy to celebrities in whom they had previously never displayed the slightest interest. Joy Division’s case however was different to those of Hendrix Redding and Reeves and to more recent instances such as Tupac and especially Kurt Cobain in that they were not yet celebrities having only secured themselves a cult following by the time of Curtis’s suicide.

I usually dont listen to his music but this was really good!. Night Dive: Love the clapping and the rebelous feel to it… Both are good if a little reminiscent of their old style so I recommend checking them out. In the end this is a good fun album. Check it out you shouldn’t be disappointed (unless you’re expecting death metal of course).
