addEntry({} {button:true} );Jesse “The Devil” Hughes realized something just wasn’t right fairly early in the night of November 24. Even before his band the Eagles of Death Metal took the stage at Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena to open the first of what was supposed to be 15 North American dates on the Guns N’ Roses tour Hughes witnessed what he perceived to be an odd occurrence. “I saw people booing the Suicide Girls” he said referring to the inked and pierced goth pinups who served as one of the night’s other openers. “A rock show booing hot naked chicks is not a rock show — it’s a freak show. And now I’m just sorry we won’t be touring with the Suicide Girls every day. That’s because on Friday the Eagles of Death Metal exited the GN’R trek — after just that one performance — following an onstage rant by Guns frontman Axl Rose during which he nicknamed the band “The Pigeons of Sh– Metal” before informing his audience that the gig would be the Eagles’ last on the tour (see… “A rock show booing hot naked chicks is not a rock show — it’s a freak show. (Queens frontman Josh Homme Hughes’ high school friend is a member of the Eagles though he doesn’t always tour with the band and was not present at the Cleveland show. ) He thinks perhaps that Rose might be just a tad bit envious.

Eagles of Death Metal to Axl Rose: ‘Go Fuck Yourself Motherfucker…

} The Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes has told Guns N’ Roses eccentric Axl Rose to “go fuck himself” after the tantrum-prone singer told Eagles they were being kicked off the tour during an onstage rant. That was when Eagles delivered the message “You can tell that motherfucker to go and fuck himself because I will never go through that again. “Hughes also revealed that Rose wasn’t even in the building when Eagles played that the crowd wasn’t grumbling because of their music (it was because Axl was two hours late and they were getting frustrated) and that Rose’s behaviour sparked outrage with his bandmates. “When he called us The Pigeons f Shit Metal Tommy Stinson their bass player took his bass off and goes: ‘Fuck you that’s it’… That was when Eagles delivered the message “You can tell that motherfucker to go and fuck himself because I will never go through that again. “Hughes also revealed that Rose wasn’t even in the building when Eagles played that the crowd wasn’t grumbling because of their music (it was because Axl was two hours late and they were getting frustrated) and that Rose’s behaviour sparked outrage with his bandmates. “When he called us The Pigeons f Shit Metal Tommy Stinson their bass player took his bass off and goes: ‘Fuck you that’s it’. And then he threw his bass down. But then Axl picked up his bass and fucking threw it at him dude. It was a fucking circus up there” Hughes told NME adding that by the end of the night Rose had caused a giant uproar.

“This album is me finally letting it out. ” Stone told everyone around her — parents managers friends and even her dogs — to bugger off as she immersed herself in recording sessions in the Bahamas. The result? Dynamic and personal cuts like “Music” which features a rap spot from Lauryn Hill; “Girl They Won’t Believe It” where she belts as if the Isley Brothers had a long-lost sister; and the feel-good jam “Nothing Better Than. ” “I was ready to go home go to school and become a midwife” says Stone whose hair is now pink. “But now I finally have a record I can listen to and not cringe. And this is not some ‘Promiscuous Girl’ shit… And this is not some ‘Promiscuous Girl’ shit. ”* * * *Just like us back in the late Eighties Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes was “one of those dumb kids who actually sought out the Robert Williams cover of Appetite for Destruction” he says alluding to the original robot-rape-scene illustration. “I just wasn’t satisfied with the skull and cross. I wanted the real deal. ” So it was big news on November 15th when Hughes got a call asking if his Eagles would open for Guns n’ Roses on their U.

article-tools –> Cameron Adams November 30 2006 12:00am A year ago Damien Leith was in his adopted home of Sydney with a wife a baby on the way a job as a chemist and his musical dreams were on hold. Leith had got the bug for music as a teenager when he sang in liver. A strange musical path followed from a death metal band with friends to a string of family bands in Ireland. All the while he’d record demo tapes send them to record companies or try to get Irish record stores to sell them. But at 30 he decided he should stop and concentrate on the real world. "There were definitely moments of me thinking ‘I should probably give it up’" Leith says.

1 which debuted with a thud at #24 on Billboard’s album chart with just 37000 copies sold. None of the national retailers contacted by MTV News said they were aware of an official release date and several major-label personnel declined even to speculate on the possibility of such a release happening before the end of this year. ne executive Carl Severson a former staffer at metal powerhouse Roadrunner Records who currently runs Ferret Records (and fronts metalcore act Nora) said he’s reasonably confident that the album won’t appear in ’06. “First of all all the print advertisements would have to be done and turned in already [as required by magazines' publication deadlines] — and someone would have leaked those” he explained. “Even if they were to do television spots they’d have to be turning them in right now just to get them to run the week before Christmas. If it is coming out this year it’s pathetic. That hasn’t stopped online gambling sites like Bodog… That was the real truth. I’m kind of bored with it. Severson agreed adding that Axl may have tinkered the album to death. “There’s absolutely no way that it’s going to be good enough to merit 10 years in the making” he said. “You know why [Axl has] changed producers [so many times]? Because the material’s not good enough and he keeps trying someone who’s going to fix it. He keeps trying to get the right record. “I think after you take a certain amount of time you might start feeling a little insecure about it” Shadows added.

The multifaceted album is further highlighted by the explosive dynamics and looming drama found on songs including “Milk of Regret” and the band’s inspired rendition of Nirvana’s “Breed. “We recorded ?Breed’ to celebrate an inspiration that means so much to me” says tep of Nirvana and Kurt Cobain in particular. “His death left a huge vacancy in this world and I wanted offer a tribute to a band that had done so much for music. ur version still sounds like an TEP song but honors the original which is exactly what we wanted.
